Drivers in the top of the South Island region will see multiple chip sealing sites over the coming weeks as the state highway summer maintenance programme gets into high gear.
Contractors working on Evans St/ SH1 in Timaru, on planned summer maintenance works between Waimataitai St and Hobbs St, have struck significant problems while resurfacing this heavily trafficked route in recent weeks.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency will be closing SH73, the Arthur’s Pass route linking the West Coast and Canterbury early in December for around two weeks. The closures will affect daytimes on weekdays, 10 am to 6 pm, Monday* 4 December to Friday 15 December.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s West Coast highway maintenance team Fulton Hogan will be resurfacing parts of SH67, the road into Westport, from the end of this weekend.
