A joint NZ Transport Agency, KiwiRail and TrackSAFE NZ campaign targeted at improving driver awareness at railway level crossings has been installed in the Rangitikei district today. The ‘Expect a train’ campaign aims to get local drivers off ‘autopilot’ mode when crossing rural railway tracks.
The NZ Transport Agency is reassuring motorists that engineers are closely monitoring two cracks which have appeared on a section of State Highway 5 (SH5) in Tumunui, south of Rotorua, and the road remains safe for travel.
NZ Transport Agency contractors are out in force in the Bay of Plenty this month, working to make the highways safer and progress major projects such as the Te Puna roundabout and Tauranga’s Maungatapu underpass upgrade.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated.
