MetService and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency are warning people travelling around Te Waipounamu, particularly Southland and Otago but also places which catch snow like Banks Peninsula, to be ready for winter weather, at the start of the school holidays.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that an amber alert has been issued for the Auckland Harbour Bridge between 7am and 11am tomorrow morning, with wind gusts expected to reach 75 to 80 km/h.
During July, there will be several changes and overnight closures around SH2/SH29A Te Maunga interchange and the Bayfair roundabout, as construction continues in the area as part of the Bay Link project.
Update 4.35 pm:
The crash scene has been cleared and the northbound lanes of State Highway 1 have been reopened. However, the crash has caused significant congestion for northbound drivers. Travel delays can be expected until queued traffic clears.
