Motorists travelling north from Main North Road onto the Christchurch Northern Motorway are advised to expect changes to the road layout from later this week, as work on the Western Belfast Bypass continues.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 3 February 2017. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
The reopening of State Highway 73 through the lower Otira Gorge and past the large Deception Point slip has gone well for the past three days, says NZ Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright. “Drivers have been patient, driving cautiously and glad to get the route reopened, albeit with delays.”
Traffic signals are being trialled on the Maruia River Bridge on State Highway 65 just north of Springs Junction. The signals will start working either later today or first thing tomorrow, January 27, once all the road markings are in place.
The NZ Transport Agency’s new traffic signals on State Highway 1 Ashburton, near the site of the new Progressive Enterprises Countdown Supermarket, will be turned on next week, the first week of February.
The next phase in the NZ Transport Agency’s safety upgrade at intersection of State Highway 1, State Highway 62 and Ferry Road at Spring Creek in Marlborough started this week with installation of new stormwater drainage.
