NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising that SH1 is closed in both directions north of Kaikoura, following a serious crash earlier this afternoon.
It should be smooth travelling over the holiday season as people will be able to drive on a number of newly sealed roads, with contractors across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty continuing to make great progress as the holiday season approaches.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 15 December 2023.
Road users can expect delays if they’re travelling on State Highway 58 this Friday night, and Friday night the following week, as a section of the highway is having its final road surface laid between Transmission Gully and Bradey Road
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is advising people travelling towards Hinds in Mid Canterbury from the Rangitata side to be ready for a detour Thursday after 9 am.
Good progress is being made on the re-surfacing work on the Otira Gorge, part of the Arthur’s Pass SH73 route connecting the West Coast and Canterbury, says the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
