Persistent, hard rainfall over Canterbury has closed a number of state highways today. Others are being watched and may be closed if surface flooding continues and as night approaches with reduced visibility.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises multiple worksites are active on State Highway 30/ Te Ngae Road, between Sala Street and Iles Road, in Rotorua this week, as part of the Eastern Corridor Stage One project.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises minor safety improvement works are underway on State Highway 24 between Stopford Road and Old Te Aroha Road, and on State Highway 25 at Pukepoto, south of Tairua.
