Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling on State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge on Friday morning 14 January to expect short delays.
Ahead of the new Te Maunga interchange opening to road users in Autumn 2022, State Highway 2 (between Bayfair roundabout and Te Maunga intersection) is scheduled to close from approximately 1.00am on Saturday 15 January 2022 until 5.30am on Monday 17 January 2022 while some of the final elements are added.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays on State Highway 2 between Waihī and Tauranga this week, as Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency contractors get back onto the network to repair, reseal and improve safety along SH2.
