Sustained heavy rain overnight in South Westland has seen further damage at Smithy’s Creek on SH6, between Franz Josef and Fox Glacier, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
Marlborough residents and regular users of State Highway 6 between Blenheim and Nelson must remember to add extra travel time to their journeys on Sunday, 21 April.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is reopening a section of SH6 in South Westland between the two glacier towns at 3 pm today. SH6 between Fox and Franz Josef Glacier towns has been closed all day due to a slip caused by the heavy overnight rain.
A road rehabilitation site on SH1 just north of the Rangitata River at Ealing, South Canterbury, will be sealed this Friday 5 April, if the weather stays dry, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
