The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises motorists that a detour is in place North East of Opotiki along State Highway 35 after a truck carrying a log laden trailer unit rolled blocking the highway around 9am this morning.
Work to help maintain safe driving conditions on Northland’s state highway network is underway at several locations in the region, and the NZ Transport Agency says all road users should be aware of speed restrictions and changes to highway and road layouts.
Christchurch’s new Christchurch Transport Operations Centre has today been launched to improve travel in the city by helping to keep all road users better informed with up-to-date travel information on road works, travel delays, detours and road closures.

Wet weather and cold temperatures at State Highway 60 (SH60) at Birds Hill in Golden Bay mean that the NZ Transport Agency has stopped construction for the next couple of months. However, the NZTA says that the delay won’t affect this section of SH60 being ready for summer.
The NZ Transport Agency says two crashes are disrupting mid-afternoon traffic on the Northwestern Motorway (State Highway 16) at Parnell and on the Southern Motorway (SH1) between Gillies Avenue and Khyber Pass.
