The final centre span beam has been installed today (Friday 26 October) on the Atiamuri Bridge Replacement project. The milestone marks the end of a two-month process involving a total of 12 'stringer beams' lifted individually by crane onto the new bridge supports.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 2 November.
The NZ Transport Agency is asking drivers to take extra care next week when it starts removing the hoardings surrounding its trial site on the causeway on the Northwestern Motorway (State Highway 16) in Auckland.
More improvements and additions to signage at the intersection of State Highways 3 and 37 (Waitomo Caves turnoff) have been carried out by the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) contractors recently. The Agency has been working with the Waitomo District Council, Police and other road safety partners to identify opportunities for improvements at the intersection which has been the site of two fatal crashes this year.
