NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 26 July 2024.
A former vehicle inspector has been sentenced to six months’ community detention and 40 hours community work for dishonestly accessing the Motor Vehicle Register (MVR) and issuing fraudulent warrants of fitness (WoFs), following an investigation and prosecution by the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) Safer Vehicles team.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises a date change to the planned realignment of SH1 southbound traffic lanes between Papakura Interchange and the BP motorway service centre.
The work will now get underway on Thursday 18 July.
Drivers are being urged to take extra care on the roads today (Monday 15 July), with a heavy rain watch in place for Northland and Auckland until late this afternoon. A strong wind warning is also in place on the Auckland Harbour Bridge until approximately 1pm.
