Update 1pm: State Highway 60 is now closed between Robinson Road and Aporo Road as emergency services and contractors attend a serious crash which occurred late this morning.
Update: Due to the overnight closure of SH36 Mangorewa Gorge for emergency works on Monday 16 September – this route is no longer a suitable detour for the SH29 Kaimai Range closure on that date.
Crews working in the Mangorewa Gorge have found a collapsed stormwater culvert under State Highway 36 (SH36) near the recent underslip work. As the culvert runs under the full width of the road it urgently needs to be replaced.
A stretch of State Highway 54 at Oroua River Bridge (Aorangi) in Feilding will be closing for 3 nights later this month for a range of maintenance work.
