Motorsport fans heading to Taupō for the Supercars Championship later this month should plan ahead and be prepared for heavy traffic on the roads as people and vehicles converge on the central North Island.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is urging motorists to plan ahead and check the latest conditions before driving on the West Coast, with significant heavy rain forecast from 9am Tuesday morning until Thursday evening. Further warnings are in place for Fiordland.

State Highway 2 Hewletts Road in Mount Maunganui will be looking fresh by mid-May, after a month’s worth of road rebuilding and resurfacing is completed.
