NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is advising drivers that night closures and detours on SH1C at Te Rapa will continue until mid-May, as resurfacing of the single-laned sections of the road is taking longer than expected to complete.
NZTA is reminding motorsport fans heading to Taupō for the Supercars Championship tomorrow to plan ahead and be prepared for heavy traffic on the roads as people and vehicles converge on the central North Island.

Stop/go traffic management will be in place on State Highway 3 at the Princess Street intersection from next Sunday (21 April) as crews enter the final stages of roundabout construction.
There has been a scheduling change for these works. This work will now be done on the night of Thursday, 18 April – not Wednesday, 17 April as previously indicated.
Petrolheads will be converging on Taupō between 19 and 21 April for the New Zealand round of the V8 Supercars Championship. Taking place for the first time at the Taupō International Motorsport Park, crowds of up to 25,000 each day are expected to attend.
