The NZ Transport Agency is teaming up with the Howard League for Penal Reform on a programme to help disadvantaged young people in Hawkes Bay gain drivers licences and improve their employment opportunities.

Final repairs on the Bealey Bridge in the Upper Waimakariri Valley, State Highway 73 between the West Coast and Canterbury, will involve a full night closure from 8 pm Saturday, 28 May through to 6am, Sunday 29 May.

Downer has held the preceding hybrid State Highway maintenance contracts for the last 15 years, together with their professional services supplier, MWH.
