Auckland Transport and the NZ Transport Agency say that providing better connections for freight in Auckland’s industrial hub of Onehunga/Penrose will release early benefits for East-West related investments.
The NZ Transport Agency advises drivers to plan their travel in Auckland this Sunday (19 January) because sections of the city’s state highway network, including some lanes on the Auckland Harbour Bridge, will be used for an international triathlon event.
Motorists are being advised of possible delays on State Highway 74 at the site of the former Lyttelton Tunnel Control Building from next Monday (20 January) as work gets underway rebuilding the retaining wall and repairing the road.
The The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 17th January.
The Transport Agency is keen to gauge local community support for a proposal to improve road safety on State highway 1 through Oamaru’s North End shopping centre that would see the current zebra crossing replaced by a modern signalised pedestrian crossing.
