Waka Kotahi is asking for public feedback from next Monday (17 January) about a proposal to toll Penlink, the new transport connection in north Auckland being built to support people living and working in Silverdale, Whangaparāoa and the Hibiscus Coast.
The holidays are here, but we know that many of our friends in the nation’s newsrooms will still be at work, so the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency media team will be on call to help during the 2021/22 Christmas/New Year break.
As part of design refinement and budget considerations, Waka Kotahi will prioritise work on the Ngakawau River Bridge abutments, to protect the bridge in the first instance. Coastal permits and consents have now been issued, which will allow the bridge abutment work to take place.
While some Aucklanders have already taken the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones following the reopening of the city’s boundaries, plenty more people are expected to head away in the lead up to Christmas.
