Update 21 March: Due to adverse weather this week, the rehabilitation of a section of State Highway 29 at Te Poi near Matamata will now finish on Friday 28 March, a week later than anticipated.

The journey to Whangamatā for Beach Hop this year should be smooth cruising with the majority of road maintenance works completed in the Coromandel. The event starts on Wednesday 26 March finishing up in Whangamatā on Sunday 30 March.
Road Reconstruction:
Extra time is needed to complete road reconstruction work on State Highway 6 near Pelorus.
Originally scheduled to be completed this week, the project is now expected to be complete in mid-April.
