Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is urging drivers travelling over State Highway 29 Kaimai Ranges in both directions to take extra care and reduce speeds as emergency culvert repair work is carried out.
Waka Kotahi is urging everyone travelling across the Canterbury and Otago regions to take extra care on the roads as strong winds continue to batter the region, with conditions likely to be particularly treacherous in some areas overnight.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that maintenance work on State Highway 1 (SH1) northbound between Greenlane and Symonds Street will take place between 11pm on Wednesday 20 July and 5am on Thursday 21 July.
Due to ongoing road movement caused by the recent wet weather, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises State Highway 35 will be under stop/go traffic management 2.5km west of the Motu River Bridge until further notice.
Ahead of another busy ‘construction’ season commencing in October, contractors are completing a range of work on State Highway 1 between Cambridge and Piarere next month to help ensure the state highway network can continue to operate safely and efficiently.
