The NZ Transport Agency has closed State Highway 8 between Tekapo and Twizel around 9 am this morning due to ice on the road as temperatures plummeted across the south of the South Island overnight and early this morning.
Contractors began installing a new gas pipeline and fibre cable under Queenstown’s Shotover River bridge this week, affecting traffic movements from night to early morning – 8.00 pm to 6.30 am weekdays. The work may take until Friday 29 July.
An overnight building demolition in Ashburton, on the corner of West and Tancred Streets, this Monday night, 4 July, will involve a detour off State Highway 1.
