As work continues to build back a stretch of State Highway 1 at Utiku, between Mangaweka and Taihape, round the clock stop/go traffic management will come into effect from tomorrow (Thursday 8 February).
State Highway 1 has reopened earlier than expected today between Taupō and Tūrangi and remains fully open tomorrow, Waitangi Day, under a reduced speed limit due to the unsealed surface.
Work will begin later this week to make a dangerous section of State Highway 1 East Taupō Arterial safer, with the construction of median barriers at the Centennial Drive interchange.
