Motorsport fans heading to Taupō for the Supercars Championship later this month should plan ahead and be prepared for heavy traffic on the roads as people and vehicles converge on the central North Island.
A reminder to road users that two nights of work will take place from Monday on a stretch of State Highway 2 between Pan Pac Whirinaki and Tutira Store, north of Napier.
A stretch of State Highway 51 will be closing for six days later this month for road widening and sealing, as the safety improvements project enters its final phase.
Road users are advised there will be overnight closures and traffic reduced to a single lane on State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge from mid-April.
