Police, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport urge drivers to be responsible for their safety and of others on the road when getting behind the wheel this Matariki weekend.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has today issued a prohibition notice to KiwiRail to prevent the Te Huia passenger rail service from entering the Auckland Metro area, following recent Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) incidents involving the service.
State Highway 25 has re-opened to two lanes this afternoon following the final clean-up of the large slip at Ruamahanga Bay and a smaller slip at Waiomu between Thames and Coromandel. Temporary speed limits are in place.
People will be able to see the proposed footprint of Stage Two of the Takitimu North Link project with public engagement now open – marking a significant step forward to protect this route, and extending the new State Highway 2 onward to Ōmokoroa.
