Greater Wellington Regional Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $390 million of Public transport projects have been approved for funding in the Greater Wellington region. This includes $32 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for Public transport projects. This will be used for debt servicing on the Matangi trains and rail upgrades, implementation of the real time passenger information system, the National Ticketing Programme, and Palmerston North to Wellington Rail Passenger service.

A further $37 million is likely to be approved for the Wellington city bus hubs and Waterloo depot purchase for park and ride facilities.

Masterton District Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $19 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in the Masterton district. This includes $90,000 of funding in the latest prioritisation round to complete LED street light conversions in the district.

Carterton District Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $9 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in the South Wairarapa district. This includes $57,000 of funding in the latest prioritisation round to accelerate the renewal and upgrade of street lighting to LEDs.

Porirua District Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $37 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in the Porirua district. This includes $11.5 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for improvements to the Link Roads, the upgrade of street lights to LEDs and for the CBD to Titahi Bay shared path. A further $728,000 is likely to be funded in this NLTP period for the Titahi Bay shared path.

Upper Hutt City Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $18 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in Upper Hutt. This includes $1.2 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for work to proceed on the Silverstream to Hutt River walking and cycling path, some sealing and widening of the Hutt River Trail, design of the Railway walking and cycling path and installation of LED street lighting.

It is unlikely there will be funding for improvements to the Fergusson/Eastern Hut//Country Lane intersection or for the Cruikshank Rail Tunnel cycleway.

Hutt City Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $46 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in the Hutt. This includes$5.3 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round to proceed on various stages of three walking and cycling projects: Eastern Bays shared path, The Beltway, and Wainuiomata Hill Road shared path. A further $2.8 million is also likely to be approved for these projects and development of the Petone to Melling cycleway network.

Wellington City Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $134 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in Wellington. This includes $20.5 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for Local road improvements and walking and cycling projects.

The $5.5 million of Local road improvements includes the accelerated rollout of LED street lighting, seismic strengthening of Northland Tunnel, road resilience improvements at Ngaio Gorge/Wadestown and gates/new pedestrian surface at the Tawa Street level crossing.

A further $8 million of work is likely to be funded, including seismic strengthening of the Seatoun Tunnel and work on the Eastern Package and Hutt to CBD Package of walking and cycling projects.
