Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has just completed the latest prioritisation funding round within the 2018–21 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP).

In this round, we have reallocated $57 million of walking and cycling funding to new projects and $18 million for local road improvements to new projects. This is not new funding but the reallocation of funds for approved projects that are either now not proceeding or progressing at a slower rate than anticipated.

This prioritisation was completed using the Investment Assessment Framework, the funding being prioritised for activities that best met the transport outcomes being sought in the 2018 Government Policy Statement on land transport.
