To qualify for inclusion in this work category, the work must be the long-term, least-cost option for the approved organisation or Waka Kotahi (for its own activities), calculated in terms of present value to maintain the appropriate level of service.

Approved organisations and Waka Kotahi (for its own activities) submit their footpath renewal activities for NLTP consideration and funding approval, using the maintenance, operations and renewals module in Transport Investment Online.
