Transport Planning Activity Class

Introduction

This section provides information, processes and procedures to assist Approved Organisations and the NZTA in developing activities for inclusion in Regional Land Transport Plans (RLTPs ) and the National Land Transport Programme (NLTP ) and for funding approval in Activity Class 1, Transport Planning. This activity class provides for:

• administration of statutory regional planning functions, and
• the preparation of programme business cases, model development and activity management plan improvements.

Transport planning

Effective transport planning ensures an integrated approach to planning and creation of robust future work programmes to achieve priority outcomes and value for money.

Work categories

For the 2012-15 NLTP only, this activity class consists of guidelines for the following work categories:

• Work category 001 – Regional land transport planning management
• Work category 002 - Transport model development, including preparation of Studies and Strategies
• Work category 003 - Activity Management Planning
• Work category 004 – Programme business case development
