Connecting Tairāwhiti is a programme of capital projects across the northern Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti regions to make roads more resilient and safer for drivers. Projects are funded by the National Land Transport Fund, the Provincial Growth Fund and regional package of the NZ Upgrade Programme.

Connecting Tairāwhiti encompasses all the construction projects Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is delivering across the northern Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti regions. Together these projects will help secure access to Tairāwhiti and improve the safety of road users on State Highways 2 and 35.
