SH58 Haywards and Paremata closures

State Highway 58 is a narrow and winding road, making maintenance under other forms of traffic management difficult. To safely and efficiently complete maintenance on this highway, WTA closes sections of this highway at night.

SH58 Haywards to Pāuatahanui

WTA is trialling a new approach of managing road maintenance on State Highway 58 between the Hutt Valley and Transmission Gully.

We will be closing State Highway 58 between State Highway 2/Haywards and State Highway 1 Transmission Gully/ Pāuatahanui one night a month from 10pm to 4am. During these closures WTA will repair barriers, maintain vegetation, clear culverts, and complete other maintenance activities.

SH58 closure dates 2025

Residents and businesses will have access to their properties at all times during the closure. All other travelers will have to detour.

SH58 Paremata

WTA regularly closes State Highway 58 between State Highway 59/Paremata and State Highway 1 Transmission Gully/ Pāuatahanui to complete sign replacements, vegetation maintenance, edge-marker post replacements, and other maintenance activities.
