Whakatiki Street to Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt

We’re making some safety improvements to State Highway 2 between the Whakatiki Street and Fergusson Drive intersections in Upper Hutt.

This project consists of the extension of median barriers along four kilometres of the state highway.

Parts of the road shoulder will need to be widened to accommodate the new median barriers. There will also be some changes to the road layout in localised areas, and roadside barriers will be extended at the Tōtara Park Road intersection.

As the project progresses, we’ll be working to make this section of SH2 safer for all road users. We’ll continue to keep you informed as we move forward.
