Extending Rowley Ave closure and one way traffic management system

Due to a change in the design and location of new pipes, we need to extend the road closure on Rowley Ave between Halswell Road and Barrowclough Street for about three weeks from Monday 14 October.

Tankerville Road at the intersection with Halswell Road – road closure

We’ll be working on Tankerville Road at the intersection with Halswell Road from Monday 30 September for about 2 weeks. During this time there will be no access onto Tankerville Road from Halswell Road and vice versa. Please use the signed detour routes via Mathers Road/Hoon Hay Road and Mathers Road/Redgrave Street.

We will need to return to do more work here and will let you know more about this closer to the time.

Rowley Ave (between Halswell Road and Barrowclough Street) – extension of existing one-way traffic system

From Monday 9 September, the existing one-way traffic system on Rowley Ave will be extended to Barrowclough Street, and will be in place for about 5 weeks. Due to another contractor working in the area over the last couple of weeks, we were only able to work in a smaller section of Rowley Ave. The other works have been completed which allows us to extend our site.

Following the one-way traffic system, we’ll need to put in place a full road closure on Rowley Ave at the intersection with Halswell Road - we’ll let you know more about this closer to the time.

Warren Crescent (west) between Halswell Road and West-Watson Ave – temporary one-way traffic system

From Monday 9 September for about a week, we’ll be back working on Warren Crescent (west) between Halswell Road and West-Watson Avenue.

During this time, a one-way traffic system will be in place. There will be no access onto Warren Crescent (west) from Halswell Road – please use the signposted detour routes via Warren Crescent (east).

We’ll need to return to do more work on Warren Crescent (west) at a later date and will update you, closer to that time, with what this will mean for traffic management in the area.

Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street) – extension of road closure

Unfortunately, we need to continue working at the intersection of Aidanfield Drive and Halswell Road.  The current road closure will be extended from Friday 30 August for about 8 weeks.

This is due to poor ground conditions, which have required us to dig deeper and use an extra 3000T of material to stabilise the road, plus the recent wet weather.

During the road closure there will be no access in or out of this section of Aidanfield Drive - please use the signposted detour routes.

From Monday 19 August for about four weeks we’ll be working on Rowley Ave between Halswell Road and Barrowclough Street.

During this time a one way traffic system will be in place. There will be no access onto Halswell Road from Rowley Ave – please use the signposted detour routes via Barrowclough Street and Hendersons Road.

Following this work a full road closure will be needed on Rowley Ave at the intersection with Halswell Road – we’ll let you know more about this closer to the time.

Halswell Road (between 91a and 181) – extension to night works, reduced to one lane and temporary traffic lights

We need to continue to work at night from Sunday 4 August 2024, for another two weeks, between 7pm and 6am on the southbound side of the road to replace and relocate pipes.

During our work hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the area we’re working in. Temporary traffic lights will be used to manage traffic through the work area.

Please look out for our staff and follow their instructions. Please also look out for changes in traffic management and follow signs on site. A 30km/h speed limit will be in place.

We won’t be working on Friday and Saturday nights.

Halswell Road night works notice extension – August 2024 [PDF, 281 KB]

Halswell Road (between Hendersons Road and Curletts Road) – installation of barriers

Over the next few of weeks, our contractor will be installing barriers along this stretch of Halswell Road to separate the lanes of traffic.
The barriers help to keep cyclists, other road users and road workers safe.

Once the barriers are in place, right turns into and out of properties along this stretch of Halswell Road won't be possible. Drivers will be able to change direction at the next available side street.

Halswell Road (between 57 and 181) – night works, reduced to one lane and temporary traffic lights

From Sunday 21 July 2024 for about two weeks, between 7pm and 6am, we’ll be replacing and relocating pipes along the southbound lane.

During our work hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the area we’re working in. Temporary traffic lights will be used to manage traffic through the work area.

Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street) – extension of road closure

As advised last month, we need to continue working at the intersection of Aidanfield Drive and Halswell Road. The road closure of Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street) will be extended from Monday 10 June 2024 for about 12 weeks. This is the quickest way we can complete this work.

While we're working at the intersection, our working hours may be extended to complete the intersection as quickly as possible.

Aidanfield Drive – temporary road closure

We will be working at the intersection of Aidanfield Drive and Halswell Road. Due to the road width and traffic volumes in this area, Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street) will need to be closed from Monday 13 May 2024 for about 4 weeks.

We will need to continue with more work here after the 4 weeks and will update you with what this will mean regarding traffic management in this area.
