Further to previous advice, the upcoming change to the Over-Dimension (OD) vehicle route between Drury and Ramarama will come into effect from 9pm on Wednesday 19 February.

All OD vehicles and loads will need to travel via the OD detour route that has been agreed and prepared in advance.  A detour route is expected to be in place for several years.

The OD detour route between Drury and Ramarama will be along Waihoehoe Road, Fitzgerald Road, Bill Stevenson Drive and Maketu Road, in both directions.

SH1 Southern Motorway - southbound

  • Sunday 16 February - Thursday 20 February: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Papakura Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges along Beach Road and Great South Road.

SH1 Southern Motorway - northbound

  • Sunday 16 February - Thursday 20 February: The Drury northbound off-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura Interchange and back via Beach Road and Great South Road will be in place.
  • Sunday 16 February - Thursday 20 February: The Drury northbound on-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura Interchange via Great South Road and Beach Road will be in place.

SH22/Great South Road

  • Sunday 16 February - Thursday 20 February: All eastbound lanes will be closed between the Ngakaroa Stream Bridge and the Drury northbound on-ramp from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. The southern side of the road will remain open to traffic in both directions, with temporary traffic signals in place.

Victoria Street, Drury

  • Sunday 16 February - Thursday 20 February: All lanes will be closed on the southern end of Victoria Street between the Drury Sports Complex and SH22/ Great South Road from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Drury Sports Complex via Great South Road, Firth Street and Bremner Road will be in place.
  • Monday 17 February - Friday 21 February: One lane will be open on the northern end of Victoria Street between the Drury Sports Complex and Bremner Road with traffic signals in place from 7am to 6pm. The road will remain open to all traffic. 

Bremner Road, Drury

  • Monday 17 February - Friday 21 February: One lane will be open between the motorway overbridge and Tributary Parade with traffic signals in place from 7am to 6pm. The road and footpaths will remain open to all traffic and access will be maintained to all properties.

Motorists are advised to take extra care and follow the posted detour route/s.
