Q/3 Normal QA level contract specification covers the quality assurance requirements for contracts which have been assessed at the normal quality assurance level. Q/4 High QA level contract covers the quality assurance requirements for contracts which have been assessed at the high quality assurance level. Both specifications should be applied to all contracts on state highways which involve road construction, road maintenance, and structures. The guideline notes covers the roles of the client, consultant and contractor in the application of quality assurance provisions in roading contracts.

P46 stormwater specification

This specification sets out the requirements for the design, construction and operation of all stormwater improvement projects. It is anticipated that the standard stormwater specification is a starting set of specifications and may be adapted to address local issues and the scope of the project.     

Repair of corrosion protection systems

Guidance notes setting out the technical requirements for the quality repair of corrosion protection systems, which may be used as a basis for particular specifications. These include paints, galvanising and metal spraying used to prevent corrosion of metal structures, devices and components installed on or as part of the state highway system.

Digout repairs in flexible pavements

This specification sets out the requirements for repairs to the pavement structure in flexible pavements, where a digout is required. This specification will be withdrawn in 2011 as it has been replaced by HM12 Digouts for work on the state highway. However, if TNZ C4 is referred to in existing contract documents then you may continue to use it. Alternatively you could use MR09 Pre-surfacing repairs if you plan to include all of the following specifications in a single surfacing contract: C4, C5, C6, C7 and C8.

Repair potholes

This specification will be withdrawn in 2011 as it has been replaced by HM19 Potholes , for potholes on the state highway. Removal of surface detritus

This specification sets out the requirements for the removal and disposal from the surface of the carriageway and drainage channels of detritus as requires removal. This specification will be withdrawn in 2011 as it has been replaced by HM20 Detritus and slip removal. However, if TNZ C15 is referred to in existing contract documents then you may continue to use it.

Repair of edge break
