Repair of edge break

This specification and guidence notes set out the requirements for repair of edge break in flexible pavements. This specification will be withdrawn in 2011 as it has been replaced by HM14 Edgebreak. However, if TNZ C7 is referred to in existing contract documents then you may continue to use it. Alternatively you could use MR09 Pre-surfacing repairs if you plan to include all of the following specifications in a single surfacing contract: C4, C5, C6, C7 and C8.

Roadmarking paints

This specification sets out requirements for paints which are intended for use as roadmarkings on road surfaces. The specification is applicable to paints intended for use by spray application and paints intended to be incorporated with beads to give roadmarkings with retroreflective properties. Roadmarking paint used in method based contracts on the state highway must be on the current list of type approved paints in M/7 notes.

Lime for use in soil stabilisation

This specification ahd guidance notes apply to the purchase of calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide for use in soil stabilisation. Calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide are active ingredients present within the materials supplied under the names of quicklime and hydrated lime respectively.

Fabric wrapped aggregate subsoil drain construction

This specification and guidance notes apply to the construction of subsoil drains which consist of geotextile lined trenches filled with drainage aggregate. Pipes may or may not be placed in this drainage aggregate. The major changes in the 2003 edition of the F/6 specification.

Long-life pavement marking material applicator testing

This specification describes technical, testing and certification requirements for mechanically controlled roadmarking applicators and associated equipment to be used for the application of long-life materials in compliance with NZTA P22 Specification for reflectorised pavement marking, NZTA M24 Specification for audio tactile profiled roadmarkings, or NZTA P30 Specification for high performance roadmarkings.

Specification for roadmarking raised pavement marker (RPM) adhesive heater and thermoplastic pre-heater testing

This specification describes technical, testing and certification requirements for temperature controlled raised pavement marker heaters to be used for work with NZ Transport Agency P14 Specification for raised pavement markers installation (P14) and roadmarking thermoplastic pre-heaters for certification in compliance with NZTA T12 Specification for long-life pavement marking material applicator testing (T12).

Hotmix asphalt wearing course surfacing

This specification and guidance notes set out the performance requirements for the following types of asphalt as wearing courses: the supply and laying of open graded porous asphalt (OGPA); the supply and laying of textured high stress resistant type asphalts, such as stone mastic asphalt; and the supply and laying of dense graded asphaltic concrete (DGAC). The specification is to be used where the engineer requires a dense graded, open graded (permeable) mix or a textured surface able to resist high stress, in a performance-based environment.

Rubber latex in reseal binders

This specification and guidance notes are to be appended to P/4 Resealing and shall apply where natural rubber latex is to be added to the bituminous binder for resealing purposes. The requirements of this specification extend and modify P/4 and shall take precedence over the requirements of P/4 where there is conflict.

Repair of surface openings and minor surface levelling

This specification and guidance notes applies to the correction of settlement deformation, including depressions and wheel path rutting and settlement due to surface openings in surfaced roads. This specification will be withdrawn in 2011 as It has been replaced by HM13 Depressions. However, if TNZ C5 is referred to in existing contract documents then you may continue to use it. Alternatively you could use MR09 Pre-surfacing repairs if you plan to include all of the following specifications in a single surfacing contract: C4, C5, C6, C7 and C8.
