Published: | Category: Materials , Chipsealing , Specifications | Audiences: Road traffic engineers & consultants, Roading contractors

NZTA T09 Procedure for the Procedure for the Estimation of the Kerosene Content of Cutback Bitumen sets out a procedure by which the kerosene content of cutback bitumen is estimated from the kinematic viscosity of a sample. The viscosity of the base bitumen and the contribution of other diluents is assumed.

The areas covered by the procedure include:

  • determination of the kinematic viscosity of a cutback bitumen sample
  • the calculation of the estimated kerosene content.

NZTA T09 specification replaces the version issued in 2003.
