Total Mobility around New Zealand: a regional guide

An overview to using the Total Mobility scheme and contact information for regions operating the scheme in New Zealand.

Manawatū-Whanganui

The Total Mobility scheme is available across the Manawatū-Whanganui including Feilding, Palmerston North, Levin, Marton and Whanganui.

The Total Mobility scheme does not operate in Dannevirke, Raetahi, Pahiatua, Woodville, Taumaranui and Ohakune which has no transport service.

Transport operators

The following transport operators provide total mobility services and some provide wheelchair hoist services as indicated.

Please remember that you may need to pre-book a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Maximum contribution by Horizons Regional Council 

The maximum contribution per trip in:

  • Palmerston North, Whanganui, Levin and Feilding is $10 (up to a maximum fare of $20)
  • Marton and Feilding is $5 (up to a maximum fare of $10).

Note: Horizons Regional Council will pay half the fare up to a maximum specified above. Any additional fare must be paid in full by the user.

Restrictions to the Total Mobility scheme in Manawatū-Whanganui

Passengers may travel where they wish so long as no more than the local maximum is charged to the regional council.
