We work across the Transport Agency, with our suppliers, key stakeholders and customers. Our focus areas are: the application of environmental risk management and urban design principles; development and implementation of national standards and guidelines; education and training; research; consenting and consent compliance management; monitoring and auditing; supplier contracting; quality assurance; and stakeholder and customer engagement.

Our aim is to:

  • Provide efficient, effective and consistent technical support for transport and resource planners, project, asset, property, contract, network and journey managers.
  • Ensure consistent application of operational policy and best practice in the engagement and management of external suppliers.
  • Provide dedicated regional environmental specialists for one-stop-shop assistance to Transport Agency regional offices.
  • Maintain long term relationships with consenting and regulatory authorities such as the Department of Conservation, Heritage NZ and local authorities.
