You may have noticed that we've changed how the intelligent transport systems (ITS) design standard and delivery specification (S&S) documents are presented online.

While developing the new ITS S&S framework, we have taken users’ feedback on board and improved the webpage to make it easier for people to find ITS S&S documents. The pages have been restructured and provide additional details to give users clarity on the versions of the documents.

The current, interim and legacy S&S documents are located together, and you can now clearly see the most recent version of documents and if a previous version is available.

ITS current, interim and legacy standards and specifications

Superseded S&S documents are now under a new archived section that shows when the document was issued and when it was superseded.

Archived ITS standards and specifications

For planning and procurement purposes, please refer to the ITS current, interim and legacy S&S page. Archived documents are available as a historical record and should not be used on new projects.

If you have any questions or feedback, please email the ITS S&S team at

We will also regularly update the webpage with articles on this News section, so keep an eye out for it!
