A public information campaign was launched in 2016 to target visiting drivers to New Zealand who are specifically travelling in Otago, Southland and the West Coast. The campaign highlights the fact that New Zealand roads are different to what they’re used to with some very specific messaging. It aims to inform drivers of key safety messages and encourages them to adjust their driving to New Zealand roads and conditions.
Currently focused over the summer months from October to March, the campaign targets visitors in three ways - as they plan their trip, once they land in New Zealand, and during their travels here.
Our current advertising includes outdoor (billboards, truck/bus backs), print, online, and social media, as well as posters and advertising in place where visitors frequent such as hotels, cafes and petrol stations.
