Owners of passenger vehicles and goods vehicles that contain the synthetic greenhouse gas (SGG) HFC-134a (R134a) in the air conditioning unit are required to pay a synthetic greenhouse gas levy when their vehicle is registered.
The SGG levies include GST and may be subject to rounding. Note that the levy will be increased from 1 January 2020.
