The Landslide Hazard Rating System (LHRS) procedure provides a consistent, systematic national approach for initial assessment of landslide hazards on the state highway network.
The procedure describes how slopes are to be assessed to obtain a landslide hazard rating score. The LHRS scores are allocated with the same scale and weighting as the Rockfall Hazard Rating System (RHRS), resulting in comparable ratings between rockfall and landslide sites.
Input data sheets are included for reference, however digital apps in Survey 123 are now developed to capture data for both LHRS and RHRS.
LHRS assessments should be completed when required by NZTA as a first cut analysis that allows resources to be directed towards the higher risk sites for further assessment and/or physical works.
