Regulatory guidance for safer rail interoperability in Aotearoa New Zealand

Published: | Category: Rail safety , Guidance for specialists | Audience: Rail participants

This guidance supports the intent of the Railways Act 2005. It is voluntary and not legally binding. Most rail participants are likely to already follow many of the recommended practices, and some recommendations may be more relevant to certain organisations than others.

However, this guidance reflects good practice and sets out NZTA’s expectations for how a rail participant may meet its interoperability obligations.
