Tasman Journeys, the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency highway maintenance team, will be making Whakatu Drive, part of SH6, a smoother ride next week filling ruts in the road.
UPDATE TO WORKS: Due to COVID-19 related resourcing issues, the closure of SH2 Hewletts Road Flyover for planned maintenance (see below) will not be going ahead as expected tonight.

Road users of State Highway 1 in Hātepe, south of Taupō, are advised that four weeks of essential road maintenance work commences on Sunday 6 March. This work will be completed in two stages to minimise delays whilst ensuring the work is completed safely for both road users and crews on site.
