Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises two state highway bridges in west Waikato that will introduce new weight restrictions for heavy vehicles from 1 November 2021 will not have advisory signs installed in time for that date.
Safety improvements on Rotorua’s northern gateway for traffic from Hamilton and Tauranga are nearing completion with the removal of the Western Road detour at the State Highway 5/36 roundabout near Ngongotahā.
Waka Kotahi is asking motorists in the eastern Bay of Plenty to take care on the roads, with heavy rain closing a section of State Highway 30 between Western Drain Road and State Highway 2 (Awakeri), and parts of SH2 Waimana Gorge down to one lane due to slips and fallen trees.
