NZTA advises of SH2 and SH58 closures on Sunday night

|

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that there will be closures on SH2 and SH58 on Sunday night/Monday morning to enable a large transformer to be transported by Transpower from Petone to the Haywards Hill Substation. Detours will be in place and electronic signs will be used to keep motorists informed.

The closures will be in place from 10pm Sunday to 4am Monday, and are as follows:

  • Full closure of SH2 (northbound) at Petone. Traffic will be diverted over the Petone Overbridge and along Hutt Road, continuing left onto Korokoro Crescent, left onto Pito-One Road and finally left onto the Motorway at Priests Avenue
  • Full closure of SH2 at the Dowse Interchange (southbound). Traffic will be directed off at the Dowse off ramp and detoured along Hutt Road, re-entering SH2 at the Petone on ramp
  • SH58, Haywards Hill - Closure of Porirua-bound fast lane whilst the transporters are reconfigured for moving into the Haywards substation
  • SH58, Haywards Hill - Closure of the Hutt-bound lane by way of rolling blocks whilst the transformer is moved onto site.

Similar closures will be in place on Sunday 4 September to enable the transportation of another transformer.

The NZTA is working closely with Transpower to minimise disruption to the public, and thanks motorists for their patience and understanding.
