The NZ Transport Agency is advising State Highway 1 between Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay has been temporarily closed to allow more emergency services to access the crash site
Due to a separate crash on Paekakariki Hill Road no detour is currently available.
NZTA is advising motorists to delay their travel both north and southbound due to the current level of congestion.
