The NZ Transport Agency is closing State Highway 6 at Meybille Bay north of Punakaiki next week, from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon, 7-8 September, for geotechnical investigations. “We are working towards a more permanent solution for the slip site at Meybille Bay,” says Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising that traffic management is being put in place on Taranaki’s state highway 3 near Lake Mangamahoe so damage to a large stormwater culvert, can be repaired.
The upgraded intersection of State Highway 20A and Kirkbride Road has opened to traffic this morning and will help to improve journeys to, from and around Auckland Airport.
A traffic signal is being installed at Christchurch’s Halswell Junction Road/Springs Road roundabout this month to reduce congestion and improve safety during the morning commuter peak. The signal will be operational by the end of September.

From early next week, Tuesday, 22 August, drivers will need to watch for 28 metre (bumper to bumper) truck loads moving bridge beams to Kaikoura, via the Lewis Pass and the inland road via Waiau/ Mt Lyford. The beams are heading to Irongate, north of Kaikoura for a new bridge build as well as smaller bridge sites north of Kaikoura.
