Waka Kotahi is advising holidaymakers and other road users to plan ahead for likely delays as repair work is undertaken tonight (Monday 26 December) from 8pm to 12pm to fix damage to the centre wire rope median barrier near Te Kauwhata.
The Takitimu North Link project is making great progress one year into construction with environmental controls in place, site accesses established, five bridges in construction, a site office opened, and critical utilities relocation work underway.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that the southbound passing lane located near the Titiokura Saddle approximately two kilometres South of Waitara Road (heading towards Napier) on State Highway 5 (SH5) will be closed for safety reasons during the Christmas/New Year holiday period, beginning today (Thursday, 22 December 2022).
State Highway 2 through Tararua has been a focus this summer maintenance season and good progress has been made. Works will continue from January 2023 as part of the country’s largest ever maintenance programme.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that essential maintenance road pavement rehabilitation will take place on State Highway 50 (Links Road) between Franklin Road and SH50 Korokipo Road / Waiohiki Road intersection from Monday, 9 January 2023 to Saturday, 28 January 2023 between 6am and 6pm (weekdays).
Temporary road closures will be in place around Trustpower Baypark, on State Highway 2 between Sandhurst Drive and SH2/29A Te Maunga Interchange, and on Truman Lane in early January 2023, with two major events taking place in the Bay.
