The NZ Transport Agency and Gisborne District Council have agreed to dissolve the Tairāwhiti Roads partnership and replace it with a new shared services model for managing the transport network in Tairāwhiti.
The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that State Highway 35 is closed five kilometres north of the State Highway 35/Toa Street intersection due to a serious crash.

The first stage of safety improvements to State Highway 3 (SH3) between Waitara and Bell Block, with the removal of the northbound passing lane between Mahoetahi Road and Raleigh Street are now complete.
Tairawhiti Roads is advising that, due to wet weather, the start date for the State Highway 35 Awapuni Road upgrade will be delayed until the weather improves.
