More than 100 disadvantaged young people in Te Kuiti have gained their restricted drivers licence, thanks to an initiative funded by the NZ Transport Agency and AA, in partnership with Chevron New Zealand and Hyundai New Zealand.
The Transport Agency has confirmed the timing for next month’s extended closures of the Taramakau road/rail Bridge on State Highway 6 near Greymouth, so safety improvement work can be carried out on the entrances to the bridge.
Major safety improvements are on the way for drivers travelling between Christchurch and the West Coast, with construction now underway on the State Highway 73 (SH73) Mingha Bluff Realignment just east of Arthur's Pass Township.
